Sophie's First Road Trip

This last Friday Davey and I thought it would be fun to surprise my mother in law Patti for her birthday and take Sophie on her first road trip to Cedar City.  We packed our stuff and loaded it in the car and off we went to Cedar. And yep Sophie slept the whole three hours down. We arrived at 11:00 pm and Patti had NO idea that we were coming, so we left Sophie in her car seat  at the front door and rang the doorbell and ran. It was so much fun watching Patti's face as she open the door to find Sophie there.

And Sophie was excited to see Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt Danielle.
While we were in Cedar we thought it would be fun to go to Zion and hike around. Well after driving 45 minutes to Zion, we got there and it was crowed and cold.  We took a few pictures and jumped back in the car. Instead of hiking in Zion we drove around Zion. But it was still fun.

After Zion we went out to dinner and did a little shopping in St. George, we headed back home to do some s'mores and go in the hot tub. It was fun sitting around the camp fire talking and laughing.

On Sunday it was Patti's birthday. Poor Sophie was not feeling good. She had a running nose and was coughing. So we decided to keep her home from church. But I went to to relief society to hear Patti give her lesson. She did such an amazing job.
Snuggling with Sophie,  it was so sad that she was not feeling good :(

Happy Birthday to the best mother in law and grandma! We are so lucky to have you in our lives. Thank you for raising a wonderful son and letting me be part of your family. I can't ask for a better mother in law and a better grandma to Sophie. We love you!

This past weekend Sophie has discovered her hands and her tongue. It was so funny to watch her stick her tongue in and out. AND Sophie rolled over for the first time. My baby girl is getting so big. She needs to slow down. I just love her so much.

It was a fun weekend with family!

Our life with Sophie Girl

I can't believe our little Sophie girl is 7 weeks old. It seemed like yesterday I was holding her in my arms for the first time. Oh how my life has changed for the better. I can't imagine my life without her. Everyday I wake up feeling so blessed to be a mother to a beautiful healthy little girl. I am so honored that Sophie picked me to be her mom and that my Heavenly Father trusted me to to raise one of his daughters. I am forever grateful.

Sophie at 1 Week old

So the past 7 weeks has been many sleepless nights, lots of nasty blowouts, spit up all over me, more laundry then I can handle, adjusting to breast-feeding and some tears of how am I going to handle being a mom. But when I see Sophie smile, or make funny faces and sleeping next to me I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.
We also hit some big milestone for the Wynn family
Davey and I celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary
We bought a townhouse in Riverton, UT
We blessed Sophie on Mothers Day
And Sophie is sleeping though the night

On our wedding day and then a year later we had a baby

On May 13, 2012  Mothers Day Davey got to bless Sophie. What an amazing blessing a father can give to his daughter. There was not a dry eye in Church. Davey is such an amazing father to Sophie. And Sophie is one lucky girl to have him  as a father. Its so fun watching him hold and smile at her and she just loves her daddy

Sophie is a daddy's girl
Everyday Sophie is getting more of personality. Its so fun watching her discover new things. She loves to take baths. Her first time she took a real bath she pooped which Davey and I laughed so hard. But since then she hasn't done that. Thank goodness cause that was not fun cleaning that up. She loves to make funny faces and she smiles all the time. She LOVES to sleep in our bed, which is not a good habit and I am doing better by putting in her crib. She loves looking everywhere. I have never seen a baby as wiggly as her. She is going to be my little dancer. She loves to scream and when I pick her up she stops. She definitely has my attitude and I tell my mom everyday that I am sorry cause I am getting my payback.  She is so much fun and I enjoy every minute of it.
Love that smile

Daddy thought it was funny letting her watch movies on his IPhone

Her funny faces

Bath Time

She hates when that happens.
Davey thought that this was funny
Playing with her toys
Yep thats spit up all over her and me
She loves to sleep with her hand like that

Yep thats her poop.

I have so much fun taking pictures (maybe a little too much) and seeing her grow. I am also so lucky to have parents and in laws who have been so helpful these past seven weeks. I couldn't imagine my life without them. We love you! They are such a great example to Davey and I. Sophie is one spoiled girl from both grandparents.

I have loved every minute of being a mom. And I can't wait to see her start to roll, sit up and crawl, say her first word (which will be mommy) and take her first step.  I am so lucky to be Sophies mom.

I love you Sophie Marie to the moon and back.

The Birth Story

April 2, 2012 is a day I will always remember. A day that my life changed forever for the better. The day I became a mom. Sophie Marie came into our lives at 6:09 weighing 7 lbs. 8 oz and 20 inches long. Davey and I couldn't ask for anything more than a healthy beautiful little girl. We are truly blessed to have her in our life.
So here is the story.
After being 5 days past my due date and trying to do everything to induce my labor I thought our little girl was going to come into our lives on April 1. Early Sunday morning I started to feel contractions that got a little stronger and closer together. So I thought this was it. We went into the hospital, after calling our family and friends telling them that we are going to have a baby today. Daveys mom, Patti, got in her car from Cedar City to drive up thinking she was going to have her first grandchild.  We went in to the hospital, they checked how dilated, and I was disappointed that I was only at a 2 but I had high blood pressure so they wanted to keep an eye on me to make sure the baby and I were ok.  After an hour my contractions stopped and my blood pressure went down and they told me that it was false labor and I was going home. I was in tears saying this must be a joke. Someone must be playing an April fools joke on me. That someone was our little Sophie. She just wanted to tease me. So I was sent home with an induction date for Tuesday, April 3.
Davey went to work the next day thinking I would not have the baby till Tuesday. My mom came in from California the week before to be here for the baby. So on April 2 I had my 41 week appointment with Dr. Twelves. As she walked in the room she told me I was done being pregnant and that I was going to have a baby today. I was in shock because they had already told me they would  induce me the next day. However, I was dilated to a 4 and the baby's head was down ready to come.  Dr. Twelves told me I don't even have time to go home to get my stuff. I called Davey at work saying we are having a baby today. He didn't believe me. I just told him I am going to the hospital and he better meet me there.
I got checked in to the hospital and they started me on pitocin and the contractions started. I have never felt so much pain in my life. I couldn't take it any longer so after 3 hours of pain I got an epidural. That was the best thing in my life at that time. Thank goodness for epidurals.  After I got my epidural, I was a different person, I was so happy and cracking jokes. We had a party in the delivery room. There was my mom, my mother in law Patti, my sister Laurie, my best friend Braydee, and of course Davey.
5 hours into my labor everyone left to go get food thinking I would have a long labor  and they wanted to eat which was not nice because I couldn't eat until after she was born and I was starving. While they were gone I felt a lot of pressure but I didn't think much of it. They all came back and after an hour they went to the gift shop while I tried to rest. The nurse came in and checked how dilated I was. She told me that I was ready to push. I hurried and called Davey telling him to get up her fast and that I was going to start pushing. I have never seen so many people run into my room so fast as my family.
After 7 hours of labor and 30 minutes of pushing I got to hold my baby girl for the first time. What an amazing experience. I couldn't be more in love with someone so little and so perfect.

Shopping Shopping and More Shopping!

Saturday was a busy day for us.  Davey and I went and toured the Riverton Hospital.  A nice nurse showed us around and talked about what will happen when I come in to have the baby. (And of course Davey said I asked to many questions.)  As we were walking out of the hospital Davey and I looked at each other and said we are going to have a baby in less then 3 weeks. Reality set in, but we are so excited and can not wait to hold our daughter in our arms.
After the hospital we went to Target and got all the stuff we needed for the baby. I never knew how much stuff you need for a little person, but you need a lot! We had so much fun picking out clothes and diapers and all the little things, our bank account on the other hand is not so happy. This is what we got.

3 Boxes of Diapers
2 Boxes  of Wipes
A Breast pump
A Pink Boppy
Baby Oxey Clean
2 Baby Wash
2 Baby Lotion
Pacifiers
Lots of clothes
And a lot more...

We set up the pack n play in our room and got everything ready  for the princess to arrive. We are so blessed to become parents and can't wait for her to be in our family.
